We were delighted to be asked to host an Under 13s 25-overs match against the young touring side from New Delhi

The Academy batted first and, in very different conditions to what they are used to back in India, did extremely well to post a total of 128 for 6. Vivan Bhatia was the star of the touring side in stroking a controlled 54, and he was well supported by Abdulla Ikram who added 32 to their scorecard. Harvey Sharpe was the pick of the Spitfires' bowlers with 3 for 10 from his 3 overs.

In our run-chase, opener Joseph Trotter produced a fine 32 and Finley Lovell and Elliot Osborne 21 apiece as they enabled us to reach the required target in 20.4 overs to win by 4 wickets.

This was an excellent game of cricket between two highly enthusiastic and talented young sides and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Thanks are extended to our Head of Youth Cricket, Ryan Wells, for making the necessary arrangements for this match as well as all of our coaches and Belhus members who provided assistance to ensure such a successful evening.

We wish the Academy the best of luck for the rest of their ambitious tour, and we hope that we might meet them again - in New Delhi.
