Belhus Cricket Club runs 5 Saturday XIs, 2 Sunday XIs, a Ladies XI known as Belhus Belles, along with an occasional Midweek XI and we welcome new members of all levels of ability - both juniors and seniors. Our Saturday XIs compete in the Hamro Foundation Essex League. We are Clubmark accredited with the England and Wales Cricket Board.
We organise an annual Open-Age Tour (something we have been arranging since 1966 including tours to Northern Ireland, Barbados, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Devon, Hampshire and Norfolk) as well as Youth Tours. In the 250-year history of cricket in Essex, no other club has undertaken such an extensive programme of tours.
2018 was the club's most successful season. Each of our 4 Saturday League XIs gained promotion (with the 1st XI being elevated to the Premier Division) and we reached the Final of the Dukes Essex League Cup for the second successive year. It was an unprecedented season in the history of cricket in the borough of Thurrock.
The Club has been past winners of the 'Best Hospitality' award in the Essex League on numerous occasions, as well as past winners in the 'Best Pitch' category. And in 2016, the Club lifted the prestigious ECB Indoor Championship of England & Wales (in which 830 teams from 32 counties across the UK competed).
