All club officers are required to devote a good amount of their spare time in managing a club of our size. But it falls to the Club Chairman to lead the board and ensure that issues are decided in a fair and democratic manner. And it requires vision, sensitivity and sound judgement in keeping a finger on the club's heartbeat and to steer the course that will achieve our objectives.
A number of our members have sat in the seat that demands a daily involvement in all aspects of the club's activities, and many able Chairmen have skilfully directed club affairs since our formation. After two lengthy terms of office by Major Patrick Pooler-Williams and Don Sievwright, numerous members assumed the role for shorter periods of time. But for a record period of 10 years in the Chair (between 2001 and 2010), Brian Edwards guided the club through its most progressive and successful period.
Our thanks to them all.
