Electing to bat, Belhus made a steady start in this 35-over encounter, the first wicket realised 40 runs off 9 overs with young Sam Hiscott making 36. Good contributions from Henry Overy who retired on 50, the ever-improving Louie Mailey with 43 and 18 n.o by No. 6 Aftab Mohammed saw Belhus post a reasonable but perhaps slightly below par total of 188 for just 4 wickets.

In reply, the Weald order was held together by D. Buttleman with a good 79 (It was suggested he should carry on and not retire). At one point Weald looked certain winners but then young Louie Mailey accounted for the two big wickets running out P.Warriner for 44 with a direct hit and then bowling Buttleman in the same over with a ball that just dislodged the bail which his Dad, Martin, was first to spot! With 25 wanted off the final 5 ovrers and 7 off the final over, Weald were just edged out by good bowling and field placing eventually needing a boundary off the final delivery but it was not to be. Belhus won a good game by 2 runs.
