RILEY MACANASPIE STROKES MAIDEN CENTURY IN 4TH XI VICTORY:
Belhus 4th XI 299-4. South Woodham & Burnham 4th XI 40:
Belhus won the toss and elected to bat first in this Mid Essex League match on 22nd August. Our openers Tom Thompson and Akther Raju (27) put on 35 before Akther was dismissed and then Under 15 Squad Member Riley Macanaspie marched confidently to the crease to carve a commanding 144-run 2nd wicket partnership with skipper Tom before he departed for a graceful 61. Then with a run-a-ball contribution of 29 from Paul Everingham, Riley continued unperturbed and proceeded to notch up a superb maiden century, finishing undefeated on 138 to take Belhus to 299 for 4 after their 40 overs.
After tea, the Belhus bowlers were in outstanding form as Evie Baldwin and Viresh Kosambia captured 3 wickets apiece to skittle out the 10-player South Woodham & Burnham side for just 40 and the 4th XI won by a handsome 259 runs.
Certainly a win to remember for the 4th XI, but a particularly memorable day for Riley who stroked the Club's highest score of the season (to date). Many congratulations to him.
