CLUB RECORD FASTEST CENTURY.
On 10th June 2017, our 2nd XI travelled to the Rolls Sports Ground in Chingford for their fifth SNEL match of the season against West Essex CC. Having won the toss, West Essex invited us to bat on a green pitch and at the drinks interval after 25 overs, we were comfortably poised with just 1 wicket down.
And then, at the fall of the 2nd wicket in the 29th over, our No. 4 batter Dan Dreher strode to the crease. He proceeded to stroke his way to 50 in 35 balls and then produced a masterly display of clean, power hitting (reminiscent of dad, Chris), to reach his century in 51 deliveries slamming 8 sixes and 9 fours. Brilliant.
After tea, having posted a competitive total of 295 for 3 declared, we then bowled out West Essex for 207 to win convincingly by 88 runs. But the day will long be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to be present for the magnificent Club Record Fastest Century. Well batted Dan.
