Our talented U13 Spitfires had produced some outstanding performances this year, losing just 2 of their matches, with all members of the squad contributing to the impressive effort.

So, coming into the SECPG Final against the Benfleet Barbarians, confidence was high. But batting first, they didn't quite post the kind of total they had been used to during the season and they were dismissed for 104 from 17.4 of the allotted 20 overs.

Chasing a moderate total, the Barbarians batted sensibly and were able to knock off the runs in just 18 overs as they marched home to a comfortable 6-wicket victory.

It just wasn't our day, but congratulations to the Barbarians.
