South Weald took first knock in this 35-over Sunday friendly and proceeded to rack up a competitive total of 222 for the loss of 4 wickets with Sam Stroud their top-scorer in smashing 92 off of just 46 balls - a century would have been well deserved.

In reply, Belhus soon lost Aftab Mohamed but Ovais Ilias (42) and Klay Smith (a run-a-ball 60 - his maiden fifty for the club) turned matters around. Then skipper Louie Mailey stroked a fine 66* from 49 deliveries and with Oliver Davy (28*) he carved a commanding 6th wicket partnership of 67 to steer us home to a comfortable 5-wicket victory in 31.5 overs.

This was a thoroughly entertaining game with plenty of runs and played in good spirit.
