Belhus CC U19s played their first-ever Ravi Bopara U19 Cup match on this damp & miserable Monday evening.

Belhus lost the toss and Woodford Wells chose to bat first. Despite the toss not going the Belhus captain's way, he did not have to wait long for his team to pick up the first wicket. Louie Mailey struck with just the second ball of the match dismissing the talented Aayush Aiyar. Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals and with Puneet Singh Bal picking up the two highest scorers for Woodford Wells, Belhus were well on top. Woodford Wells finished on a respectable 114.

With the rain incoming and the light fading this would be no easy chase.

Woodford Wells picked up the first 4 wickets for just 15 runs leaving Belhus well and truly on the back foot. However skipper Teddy Waters and Lewis Blake steadied the ship and played sublimely in what was a much needed 59-run partnership. Riley Everett and Louie Mailey then found themselves in the middle with 22 runs still needed. The pair batted superbly to see the team home with 3.2 overs remaining.

A superb win which left skipper Teddy Waters delighted.
