In a friendly Sunday match against the Crusaders, Belhus emerged victorious in a thrilling encounter. The day began with the Crusaders winning the toss and electing to bat first.

Our opening bowler, Tyler Martin, struck early, sending the ball straight to the slips where Lewis Blake took the catch – the first of his four catches of the day. As the match progressed towards the drinks break, the Crusaders appeared to be on course for a high score. However, our spinner, Lewis Blake, once again came to the rescue, claiming two crucial wickets that shifted the momentum back in Belhus' favour.

With a solid team effort, Abdullah Mir, Harvey Stapleton, and Lewis Worley stepped up, helping to bowl out the Crusaders for a total of 147 runs.

In our run chase, Belhus started confidently. Abdullah Mir played a crucial role, scoring an unbeaten 51 runs (his maiden fifty). He was supported by valuable cameos from Michael Cansdale (24) and Aftab Mohamed (25). Despite a few setbacks, with Crusaders taking quick wickets to get back into the game, Wayne Read (11*) and young Lewys Worley (9*) held their nerves to guide us to victory.

Overall, it was an immensely enjoyable day of cricket. Our thanks go out to the Crusaders for a competitive game, and congratulations to the Belhus team for securing a well-earned win.
