At Chelmer Park for this sixth Hamro Foundation Essex League match of the season, Chelmsford batted first and made their way to a modest, but very gettable 142 all out. Ashir Saleem did the damage with the ball by bowling his usual accurate self as he collected a career-best 7 for 30, the best bowling return of the season.

With a decent batting line-up, skipper Jim Robertson's hope of chasing down the runs was high. But despite 29 from Hussain Katariwala and 28 from Saiful Islam along with a gallant effort by Ben Gladman (17*), we were unable to reach the required target and we fell agonisingly short to lose by 10 runs.

A great performance by Ashir but disappointment that our batters didn't perform on this day.
