Our 4th XI batted first in this 9th Essex League match of the season, but only Richard Waters (70) and Dylan Sinfield (56) made any impact on the Benfleet bowlers as we made our way to a modest 207 for 6 after 45 overs.

In their run-chase after tea, Benfleet batted well to reach the required target as Ben Prophet stroked a fine 91 to see his team home to a comfortable 6-wicket win.

At the midway stage of the season, our 4th XI are placed in 8th position in the Premier East Division with 68 points - some way behind the leaders Benfleet who have registered an impressive 176 points.
