Match report The U13 Lightning began their 2021 league campaign against Wickford this weekend. Winning the toss and bowling first, Wickford began steady reaching 21 without loss before a tidy bit of fielding from Ben Gladman gave Belhus the breakthrough. The boys then laid on the pressure and Wickford crumbled to a below par score of 55-7 off their 20 overs. Ben Gladman returned best figures with an impressive spell claiming 2-1 while there was a wicket apiece from Riley Everett (1-4) James Maynard (1-3) Dylan Sinfield (1-11) and Louie Mailey (1-4)

In reply, Belhus took the game from Wickford's hands very early as we raced to 47-1 off 6 overs with impressive innings from both Aaryian Kansagra (15) and William Sullivan (15). Things never got easier for Wickford as the runs continued to flow on the rapid outfield as Ben Gladman (10) and James Maynard (17) continued and took the score past 100 at the 16 overs mark. Dylan Sinfield (21) and Louie Mailey (21) then came together and put on a partnership of 48 runs, blitzing the ball to all parts of the ground to rack Belhus up to 155 after 20 overs. A quite impressive batting display.
