On a less gloomy than expected sping evening, Belhus Spitfires met Stanford-le-Hope for their first match of the season.

Being a conference match, the two teams were not matched and Stanford-le-Hope had the less experienced side. Stanford-le-Hope batted first, and it was good to see the Belhus side being encouraging and bowling according to the batsman's ability. Aarav Kansagra, Connor Record and Raghavan Muthukumar took 2 wickets a piece, and Alfie Fogg claimed his first wicket for Belhus.

Harrison Ward faced a good standard of bowling from Connor Everett and Zach Partridge before being retired not out, and between Aryan Pokhriyal and Connor Record the runs needed to win were comfortably scored.
