Benfleet batted first after winning the toss in this Mid-Essex League match but Farhan Malik and John Miles bowled tight lines in taking 3 and 2 wickets respectively to dismiss Benfleet for a modest 162.

In our run-chase after tea, we lost early wickets to find ourselves precariously perched on 41 for 4, but Freddie Martin and Paul Everingham combined together to carve a commanding 5th wicket partnership of 114 to swing the game into Belhus' favour before Freddie fell for 31 with the score on 155 for 5. Paul remained at the crease to complete his maiden fifty for the Club and see skipper Adam Martin's 4th XI canter home to a comfortable 4-wicket victory.
