Batting first on a very hot day, our 1st XI struggled to clock up a competitive total and it was only thanks to skipper Ryan Wells who stroked a determined 80 and Dylan Sinfield who cracked a typical run-a-ball 33*, that we were able to post just 167-9.

Such a low total was always going to be difficult to defend, but with Harold Wood perched precariously on 133 for 7 after Abdullah Mir had captured 4 wickets, the match was in the balance. But then Farhan Javeed (30*) and Taqi Abbas (13*) produced an unbroken 8th wicket partnership of 39 to see their team home to a 3-wicket win.

Although low-scoring this was a good game of cricket, the result of which could have gone either way.
