We won the toss in this seventh Hamro Foundation Essex League match of the season and elected to bat first. Unfortunately, only Lewis Blake (31) and Dylan Sinfield (27) could trouble the scorers as we were bowled out for a lowly 150. Deven Solanki and Gareth James did the damage in taking 4 and 3 wickets respectively.

When it came to their turn to bat, the Woodford Wells opener Jonathan Gaffney showed his worth in stroking a run-a-ball 70, and with our bowlers struggling to find any accuracy, the hosts cruised home to an easy 8-wickets victory in just 27.5 overs. Well played the Wells.

Although the 2nd XI are sitting mid-table in their Division, they are still trying to find the recipe that will enable them to fire on all cylinders.
