Match report This was our third and final fixture as part of the excellent charity softball event at West Mersea cricket club, in aid of the Ruth Strauss Foundation.

Coggeshall Town were by far the strongest team in the festival and it clearly showed as Belles were restricted to just 26 runs gross. We lost three wickets in our allotted twelve overs, with a loss in the fifth over, followed by two wickets from consecutive deliveries in the eleventh over. This resulted in our net score of just 17. In reply, Coggeshall powered their way to a gross score of 89 and struck two sixes, one in the second over and one from the first ball of the tenth over. To our credit, we took what had become our customary three wickets, with success in the fourth, ninth and penultimate overs. Gross score for Coggeshall was 89, net score 80.

Belhus Belles would like to thank West Mersea cricket club and their organisers for being such splendid hosts, with a plentiful supply of food and drink available throughout the day. Belhus CC would like to thank all their players and supporters who travelled to West Mersea - a round trip of approximately 86 miles from our North Stifford home.
