In the final Hamro Foundation Essex League Division One match of the season, we posted an under-par total of 127 all out with only Henry Overy showing any worth with a stoic 57 not out.

In the run-chase after tea, opener Aariv Salil (35) got his side off to a good start to clear the way for Matthew Trim (53*) and Sayed Ahmed (24*) to steer their side home to a comfortable 8-wickets win. Well played Springfield.

So after an unhappy season with a number of potential winning opportunities lost, our 1st XI will spend 2025 in Division Two of the League, the first time since 2016.

And in this match, skipper Ryan Wells became the 3rd batter to reach 1,000 runs for the season, following Louie Mailey and Vansh Mehra.
