Belhus Cricket Club Sunday 2nd XI v Willowherbs on Sun 19 May 2024 at 1.30pm
Belhus Cricket Club Won by 5 Runs
Match report
Belhus Sunday 2nd XI 179-6 (Aariyan Kansagra 77)
Willowherbs 174-8
MAIDEN FIFTY FOR AARIYAN KANSAGRA.
Belhus batted first in this Sunday 2nd XI friendly and posted a respectable 179 for 6 in the allotted 35 overs. Aariyan Kansagra was our lead run-scorer with a fine 77 from 81 balls supported by Charlotte Waters with 43. Paul Fenton was the stand-out bowler for the Willowherbs taking 3 for 19 from 7 overs.
After tea, Willowherbs made an excellent effort to chase down the runs, but with Harvey Stapleton taking 3 for 23 from his 6 overs they failed by just 5 runs to reach the target. A good win for Belhus but had we not sent down 29 wides the final result wouldn't have been quite so close.
