In this 2nd Round Hamro Foundation Essex League Cup match, Wanstead batted first and rattled up a massive 341 for 7 from their 45 overs. Opener Muhammad Hussain Hameed stole the show with a fine innings of 141 and, coming in at No. 8, skipper Joe Ellis Grewal hit an undefeated, quick-fire 78 from 46 balls.

The required total was always going to be a difficult run-chase for the young Belhus side. And so it proved to be as only Billy Winter made any impression with the bat with a determined 30, and after spinner Ellis Grewal collected 4 for 7 from just 4 overs, Wanstead eased home to a resounding 233-runs victory.

Not one of Belhus's better days but well played Wanstead.
