A return to competitive cricket in this Dukes Essex League Cup match for this young First Team and a fantastic return it was.

Belhus bowled first and after an injury early on to Henry Overy, Dylan Sinfield & Louie Mailey bowled fantastically well with the new ball. Louie Mailey finished with figures 2-25, with the star of the show Dylan Sinfield taking 5-36 (his maiden 5for) with some hostile fast bowling. The Belhus spinners wrapped up the innings after some lower-order hitting from the London Eagles tail.

A total of 134 was going to be tough to chase in overcast conditions on the used pitch.

Belhus lost Usman early in the innings. However, the ship was steadied by skipper Lewis Blake and Ryan Wells. Both batsmen fell with runs still needed, but on debut Ausman Ginai and Belhus veteran Billy Winter were the men to see us home. Ausman finished 46 not out and Billy Winter 10 not out to get the victory.
