Belhus lost to Orpington in this Sunday friendly.

Batting first, Orpington set a good 220 for 9 in their 40 overs, as R Patel and I Robertson top-scored with 37 and 37* batting at 9 and 10 and P Barkus 19* at 11, as at 61 for 4 and 105 for 8, that total looked a long way off, but tands of 83 and 32 ensured that this total wasn't going to be easy for Belhus. Young Ben Gladman was the pick of the bowlers with excellent figures of 6 overs 4 wickets for 36 runs. Afra Mohammed also picked up 2 for 41 off her 8 overs.

Two of Belhus in-form batters, H Overy and M Cansdale opened up and were both removed for 4, C Didd also followed for 4 and at 16 for 3 Belhus were in some trouble. A few small stands eased the pressure, but was still a long way off of reaching the target and at 64 for 5, skipper Read joined A Dudmish, who was going nicely, but then fell for 24 and at 73 for 5, chances of winning were a long way away. Read and Tyler Robertson batted nicely putting on 55, until Tyler went for 21. Martin Mailey joined Read and they put on 33, but then Read knicked one and fell for 41. Martin batted well ending up 27 not out, as we fell 40 short, in what was a good game.
