Match report The Spitfires began their performance league campaign on Sunday and welcomed Westcliff to North Stifford. Losing the toss and bowling first, Belhus put on a wonderful bowling display to bowl Westcliff out for 75 in 22.1 overs. With only 4 wides bowled in the entire innings, the boys gave nothing away to Westcliff backed up with some excellent ground fielding made scoring incredibly difficult throughout. George Sanders held Westcliff's innings together with his composed 14 runs, but once Ben Gladman removed him there were no mainstays for the Westcliff innings. Louie Mailey picked up best figures of 3-4 from his 2.1 overs, while there was 2 wickets apiece for Alex Newell and James Maynard as well as a wicket each for Ben Gladman, Alfie Ware and Aariyan Kansagra.

In reply, Louie and Riley showed great intent and got the chase going, racing to 19 off the first 2 overs. Westcliff's momentum dipped, and Belhus had 50 on the board by the 6th over. Louie reached a very stylish 25 and Dylan then finished off matters in fine style, blasting 21 not out in quicktime to speed Belhus to an 8 wicket win inside 12 overs.

A spirited all round bowling performance that for sure won us the game on the day. Off and rolling in the league!
