Isabella Overy was the Belhus heroine with a fabulous bowling display. Playing in her first senior match Izzy returned the amazing figures of 5 wickets for 22 runs from her 4 overs. Belhus had won the toss and elected to bowl first on a moderately damp wicket. Belhus started well with Kyle Hewson (3 for 20) making early in roads. Andy Baker looked dangerous making 24 quick runs in a low scoring game for Wickford - but he dragged on to Hewson and in stepped Izzy to wreak havoc. Tyler Robertson joined in with 2 for 11 as Wickford succumbed to 86 all out.

But this was no cake walk for Belhus. After tea they slumped to 18 for 5 before veterans Brian Edwards (12) and Jim Robertson (36*) steadied the ship adding 28. Edwards fell and wickets fell steadily as Baker continued his fine game for 4 -20 and Warton took 3 for 15 to keep Belhus under the cosh. It was left to number 11 and potentially the eldest debutant in Belhus history, Marc Baker, to join Robertson and steer Belhus from 65-9 to the winning target of 87. A tight win for Belhus in their first league encounter as they edged home by 1 wicket. But this was Izzy's day - well done indeed !
