Match report Not one of our best innings!! to say the least !!!!!!!!!!!
Electing to bat in this friendly 40 over encounter Statics made a slow start as opener PD struggled to hit the ball off the square and a couple of wkts fell early to Jamie Fairweather. After 17 overs there was only 51 on the board as the Belhus attck and fieldind played well. However, an aggressive 61 from No4 Jermain who rode his luck on occasion and a hard hit 33 from No 6 Vigor saw statics finally bowled out for a competitive if modest 185 with one ball left on another good track. Pick of the Belhus bowling came from Keith Dhannie with 3 for 10 off his 8 overs well supported by Jamie Fairweather with 3 for 36 off 8, Henry Overy with 1 for 15 off 5 and Teddy Walters with 2 for 31 off 4 overs picking up the vital wkt of Vigor when he was threatening to take the bowling apart!!
In reply, the less said the better as sadly Belhus Sun II's produced their most disasterous batting display to date and slumped to 38 for 7 !!!!! due to some very poor shot selection and a silly run out. Any realistic chance of a victory had now gone and when skipper Randall at No9 joined young Henry Overy now 7 down at the crease. All that could be hoped for was respectability. These two put on 50 in good time util Overy was very unlucky to hole out to short third man when a miracle was starting to look a faint possibility. Randall soon followed for 31 top edging and the innings closed on a very dis-appointing 102 all out with Tyler Robertson on 10 n.o having looked very solid with two boundaries to his name. There was a ridiculous 11.3 overs remaining too!! . Well played Statics. A game played in good spirits, Tx to Peter for a good pitch and Mike for Tea. Must try harder next week.
