Match report Belhus elected to bat in this 40 over friendly encounter at North Stifford on Sunday against a very competitive Brockley side.

The home side got off to the worst possible start as both Maidment brothers failed to score with Belhus reeling at 6 for 2. However, 'newcomer' Gavin Jefferies and Michael Cansdale steadied the ship with a stand of 35 until the former was judged lbw for a solid 20. Cansdale went on to make a top score of 55, riding his luck on occasions until it finally ran out to be dismissed for an entertaining innings. Tom Thompson chipped in with a useful 20 until going back to be lbw. At 117 for 6 on a good track, Belhus were in trouble but a useful stand of 70 between Keith Dhannie and Mike Randall incorporating some good running, pushed the score to a respectable 194 all out, the former making an excellent 52 before mis-judging a long hop to be bowled, and Randall being run out off the last ball of the game for a hard-earned 26. Best bowling for Brockley was from openers Shakil and Safi who took 2 for 25 and 2 for 32 respectively.

In reply, Belhus made a couple of early break- throughs as all bowlers initially bowled well, but defending a moderate total against a decent batting line up was always going to be difficult. So this proved as Brockley romped home to win easily by 6 wickets in 34.1 overs. Well played Brockley.
Best Belhus bowling came from Cliff Cansdale with 1 for 27 off 8 overs and Billy Maidment 2 for 33 off 6 overs
