Batting first, Capricorn racked up a very respectable total of 282 for 8 in this 40-overs match at North Stifford as Aarya and Devang stroked 61 and 80 respectively. Sam George and Mike Randall were the pick of our Development XI's bowlers with 3 and 2 wickets apiece.

After tea, we lost three early wickets in our run-chase, but a fine 97-runs fifth wicket partnership between Josh Clarke and Wayne Read saw us recover to 130 for 5 before Clarke was bowled for a mature half century. Wayne Read and Mike Randall put on 72 for the last wicket to steer us to 245 for 9 at the close as Read remained undefeated on 128 and Randall 20. A fine effort by our Development XI.
