Match report In the final match of the 2017 Senior Tour, Belhus needed win to draw the series, after the previous day was rained out.

Visiting old friends at Sprowston, Belhus batted first and set a very competitive 241 all out in their 40 overs (bearing in mind 2 years ago we scored 287 and the game was tied) with young Zak Wilson the star of the show scoring a lovely 95, which included 11 fours and 1 six and he was ably assisted by Michael Cansdale continuing his tour form with a very good 60 with 7 fours, with Farr 15 and Read 18 not out chipping in at the end.

In reply, Sprowston started well, but Cliff Cansdale took the top four batters out and at 103 for 4 it was game on, Roff 24, Poole 13 and Spilling 47 providing the resistance, Cansdale taking 4 for 36, Atkins 28 and Patel 24 steady the Sprowston ship, but fell to the Wilsons, Zak taking 3 for 42 to round off a very good day for him and with the score at 160 for 8, Belhus fancied there chances, but skipper Keene and Dix 17 chipped away and when Dix fell at 195 for 9, Sprowston were still a long way from home.

This brought the experienced Club Chairman M.Ollerton to the crease to join skipper Keene and they began to work their way towards what seemed a fantastic win and with 4 overs left they needed 22 to win, 11 came from the Zak Wilson over, so 12 from 3 overs, a tight over from Mike Randall and 8 was needed from two and the home side were the favourites.

Matt Williams was brought back in to the attack with the skipper Tom Keen on strike. Keene took the score to 240 with a single, leaving Ollerton on strike with 2 to win,from 2 balls. It was now or never for Willams, as Keene would have been facing Randall in the last over. Williams ran in and bounced the club chairman who avaided the nasty short ball, which brought jeers fro m the home supporters and unsettled the Chairman, be a hero Read said, as Williams turned at the end of his mark, he laughed, Hero, lol and strode in, full straight and fast, a yorker proved too much for Ollerton hitting him on the shin and crashing in to his middle stump - the rest is history as they say! leaving skipper Keene woeing his decision to take the single and stranded on 44 not out.

And Belhus won another great game at Sprowston to level the tour series in style,leaving everyone wanting more and already looking forward to next year's tour.
