Match report Belhus played Frenford in this Sunday friendly 40 over game at North Stifford.

Winning the toss and batting first, Fenford posted a competitive 194 for 9 in their 40 overs, as all their batsmen chipped in with runs, but no one scoring more than 30. Billy Maidment picked up 3 for 39, J.Fairweather and R.Prendegasr both picked up 2 wickets and R.Goulden and A.Dudmish 1 a piece, all from their 8 over spells.

Wayne Read became only the fourth outfield player in Belhus history to take 5 catches in a match, joining Geoff Morrant (1969), Dean Bettles (1983) and Scott Bayford (1998) in holding this record.

Belhus set about the run-chase in good fashion, but with both openers out, M.Randall 4 and M.Cansdale 18 and the score at 35 for 2, there was still plenty of work to be done, as K.Dhannie and Zak Wilson came together, batting nicely, they took the score to 90 for 3, when Dhannie fell for 13. Liam Waters joined Wilson at the crease and they continued in the same fashion, before Waters fell for 18, with the score at 138 for 4, so still lots to do for Belhus to get home.

The experienced Read joined Wilson and just stroked it around, as Zak continued to score freely and scored a lovely 89 not out in 79 balls, which included 11 fours, in what was probably his best knock of the season against a very good Frenford attack, as theIR bowling figures show, to see Belhus home to a fine win with 3.3 overs to spare - well batted young man and as always thanks to Julie for scoring for us.
