Locksbottom v Belhus Cricket Club Sunday 2nd XI on Sun 24 Jul 2016 at 2pm
Belhus Cricket Club Lost by 7 Wickets
Match report
Electing to bat in this 40-overs encounter, Belhus 2s struggled from the outset on what proved to be an unpredictable wicket. At 45 for 6 with only No. 3 Steve Huckstepp making any significant contribution (17), a rout looked on the cards. However, Adam Dudmish in a 7th wicket stand of 28 with skipper Randall improved the situation until the latter got an unplayable which flew off a length from fast bowler Trevatt. Dudmish followed soon after to a low one from the same bowler. Belhus could only muster 100 all out but did show great resolve as they batted 38.3 overs.
In reply, Locksbottom reeled at 25 for 3 as their top four had similar difficulties due to uneven bounce as Ewan Day bowled well in taking 1 for 17 off 8 overs. However, No.5 first-teamer Trevatt decided the best form of defence was attack and chanced his arm to hit a match-winning 60 and Locksbottom cruised home to a 7 wickets victory.
