Match report A rare case of inserting the opposition backfired on a wet Horton Kirby wicket in this 40 over friendly encounter on Sunday. HK laboured to score a modest 118 a.o in 35.2 overs with the main contribution coming from opener Martin who made a patient 51. There were three other double figure contributions while Cliff Cansdale picked up 5 for 11 off 7.2 overs and George Maidment 3 for 18 off 8 overs.

In reply, the Belhus innings was a disaster with two of the top three being run out and only two double figure contributions from youngsters George Maidment and Liam Waters who both made 14 as Belhus 2s crashed to 78 a.o. off 36 overs. Without doubt, our most disappointing performance of the season. The only consolation was extras - just 8 in the HK innings with six of these being leg byes. One to forget and try again next week!
