Match report Touring side Disley CC from Cheshire were our opponents in this 40-overs midweek match at North Stifford.

Batting first on a grey afternoon with the threat of rain in the air, Disley posted a modest total of 166 with Clarke being their top-scorer with a fine half-century. Off spinner Jim Banner came on fourth change to return 5 for 22 from just 5 overs, and Andrew Williams registered his first wicketkeeping '5 for' with 3 catches and two stumpings. Well done.

After tea, Jim Banner and Roy Heffernan shared an opening partnership of 64 but after 3 of our batsman were run out, we capitulated to 114 all out to lose by 52 runs. Well played Disley.

Coincidentally, both teams fielded a player by the name of Jim Banner.
