Match report Batting first in this 40-overs match at North Stifford, our Sunday 2nd XI posted a highly respectable total of 238 for 8 as Wayne Read (64) and Jim Robertson (54) both stroked half-centuries. Quite unusually, all of Writtle's players were brought on to bowl.

After tea, we bowled some tight lines and fielded pretty well. Never allowing Writtle to get up with the clock, we restricted them to 183 at the close and secured victory by 55 runs.
