Match report Crusaders posted a competitive total of 228 in this 40-overs match at North Stifford as Rana top-scored with a fine half century. Dan Norris and Billy Maidment bowled well to take 3 wickets apiece.

In our run-chase after tea, our (agreed) 12 man side soon found themselves in trouble. But a controlled innings by Andrew Williams in a fantastic 10th wicket partnership of 100+ with Billy Maidment 71, 11 fours, gave the opposition a bit of a fright. Gur Singh was outstanding with the ball in taking 6 for 14 from 8 overs as we lost by 38 runs.

Billy's innings of 71 was his maiden half-century for the club and set a new club record highest individual score for a No. 11 batsman (surpassing Rob Long's knock of 43 for the 3rd XI against Leigh-on-Sea CC in 2013). Excellent.

So with 3 wickets, 1 run out and a record innings of 71, Billy was the 'Man of the Match - unfortunately he finished on the losing side!
