A Belhus team photo was taken before this match at South Ockendon Recreation Ground - not knowing what a great historic match it would turn out to be!

Batting first, our 4th XI took 34 overs to post a total of 58 with only one of our batsman reaching double figures (Lee Hawkes with 11). A. Khan was Barking's most successful bowler with a fine spell of 5 for 20.

After tea, and half-expecting an early visit to the clubhouse bar, we produced a magnificent bowling performance as Rikki Ellis captured 4 wickets and Tom Wood and Mike Randall 3 wickets apiece. And as with our batting display, only one Barking batsman reached double figures (P. Edwards with 18).

The result was a tie - a very rare occurrence in such a low-scoring match.
