Match report Winning the toss and after heavy rainfall the previous day skipper Mike Randall unusually invited Mountnessing to bat in this Worsop league encounter reduced to 35 overs. Mountnessing made a steady if unspectacular start on a slow wicket with the odd loose ball put away with the opening stand realising 40. Two quick wks fell and then the best stand of the innings between opener R.Pearce(37) and A.Pearce(48) yielded 48. Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals and only S.H.Pearce at No6 made any real further contribution with 17 as the tail folded and Mountnessing totalled 148 a.o. off 34 overs. M.Williams took 4 for 13 off 7 overs and Ryan Prendergast 1 for 13 off his seven. Mike Randall took three outfield catches.

In reply, opener Wayne Read was in good form with 75 supported by fellow opener Chris baker who made 21 in an opening stand of 79. An unfortunate run out saw Banner depart for 8. Read was joined by the fluent Mendham who hit 29n.o. Two wickets fell on 108 including Read almost immediately after the run out for a fluent knock caught behind but then Stonham joined Mendham in a stand of 36 to all but win the game. Stonham tried to win in style only to be stumped. Skipper Mike Randall had to go in with 3 runs required. Belhus ended comfortable winners by 6 wkts with 5.4 overs remaining - well done. Mountnessing were perhaps some 40 runs light. For Mountnessing C.Chapman was the best bowler with 1 for 29 off 7 overs.
