Belhus opener Ryan Wells scored exactly 50 until he was partnership of 54 with Mike Randall in this cricket week senior fixture at Blackshots on Wednesday. He hit seven fours and one six. Number six batsman Daniel Dreher hit 54, which included two sixes and six fours. But these two were upstaged by Thurrock's number ten batsman Matthew Hills, who crashed an attacking 65 not out in a brave, but unsuccessful run chase. Ayub gave support to Hills with 42 until he was bowled by Wells.

Earlier, Cliff Cansdale pegged Thurrock back with three wickets at a cost of just eleven runs from eight overs, half of which were maidens, while Mark Fogg picked up 2-33 from six overs. For Thurrock, Owen led the bowling attack with 3-35 from 6.2 overs, while Ross Fullbrook claimed 2-51 from eight overs. These two combined to dismiss Dreher in the Belhus innings with Fullbrook taking the chance in the field.
