The Belhus fourth eleven crashed to defeat at the Old Chigwellians club on Saturday. It all started brightly for the visitors with our opening bowlers keeping the lid on the home side with 1-25 off nine overs and 2-19 from eight overs respectively. Somehow, the Belhus fourth team then proceeded to let their opponents off the leash as Graham Poultney hit no fewer than fourteen boundaries in what turned out to be a match-winning score of 69.

After the break Chris Baker top-scored for the visitors with 30 runs to his name, while Danny Norris hit 25. Jack Plane contributed 21 which was preceded by knocks of 23 and 11 from openers Mike Randall and Connor Elliot. But no Belhus batsman was able to stamp their authority on the game with a significant total as Arun Kullar bagged four wickets for 35 from eight overs while Ian Greenwood also picked up four at a cost of 37 from fourteen overs, three of which were maidens.
