Brian Edwards almost pulled off a Belhus victory until he eventually run out of partners, but not before the hard-hitting left hander had punched his way to a spectacular 70 not out. Belhus were grateful that Noak Hill had stepped in at very short notice to provide a fixture after the late withdrawal of Northfleet CC and therefore it was no surprise that the pitch was a little under-prepared. But this made Edward's achievement all the more noteworthy as five of his colleagues walked back to the pavilion without a run to their name. After the first over, Belhus were in a sorry state, having lost their first two wickets without a run on the board. Although Jim Robertson and Cliff Cansdale made a dozen runs each, Belhus were eventually dismissed just eleven runs of the home score.

French and Laing did the damage with 3-22 and 3-17 respectively. Earlier, Bailey scored 48, while Scott Stonham picked up 3-38 from eight overs, while Cansdale and Edwards claimed two wickets each. Belhus wicketkeeper Ben Kent had a fine match despite having to contend with variable bounce throughout the afternoon; he picked up two catches as well as an excellent stumping off the medium pace of Stonham.
