Belhus rounded off a fine Saturday with all three teams winning. Cassowaries had made a confident start at 76 for the loss of just two wickets, but, with the introduction of spin bowlers Mike Squires and Cliff Cansdale, they lost their remaining eight wickets for just 23 runs. Cansdale picked up four wickets at a cost of just two runs, while Squires was equally effective with four wickets at a cost of 20 runs.

Belhus later found a second opponent in the weather, as storm clouds rapidly approached the Forest Road ground at Fairlop. Stuart Morris hit 49 until he was yorked, and it was left to Michael Randall and Richard Dopson to knock off the remaining runs in style, though the latter was fortunate to survive a stumping by a country mile when the umpire at his end called no ball for encroachment by the wicketkeeper. Dobson was clearly in a race against time as lightning was forking the surrounding area in spectacular fashion.
