Scott Bayford and Ryan Wells both struck fine half-centuries with 53 and 51 not out respectively as Belhus gained a comfortable victory over Woodford Green at Oakfield, Fairlop, on Saturday. Openers Richard Dopson, 31, and Peter Clark, 29, had created a firm foundation for a likely Belhus victory with an opening stand of 53. Earlier, there were strong bowling performances from seamers Alan Maidment, 1-27 and Paul Hall 1-28, but as the pitch was conducive to spin, Brian Edwards and Cliff Cansdale were heavily employed, bowling 29 overs between them. Edwards took 2-47 from eleven overs (one maiden) while Cansdale claimed 3-65 from 18 overs, three of which were maidens.

For the Green, Nilesh Thacker top scored with 65, Alva Malcolm hit 46 and Pallav Bhatt contributed 35.
