After a run of three defeats, our 4th XI came back with a resounding victory over Great Totham in this fourth T. Rippon Mid Essex League match of the season.

Batting first on what was going to be (and was) a scorching hot day, skipper Jim Robertson's side racked up a decent total of 279 for 4 from their 40 overs thanks to Mahfooz Mazumder, in his debut season, stroking 111 (his maiden century for the Club) from just 77 balls, ably supported by opener Tom Thompson with a serene 65.

After tea, Evie-Mae Baldwin continued her fine run of form with the ball in taking 2 for 6, but it was debutant Paul Gelder who excelled with startling figures of 7 overs, 6 maidens 6 wickets for 6 runs (all wickets were clean-bowled) to dismiss a young Great Totham side for 25 in only 16 overs and collect 26 much-welcomed points.
