Benfleet batted first in this Sunday friendly when only James Clarke (51*) and Benny Thankach (36*) reached double figures, as they posted 133 for 9 from their allotted 35 overs. Opening with the new ball for us were Stephen Baldwin (4 wickets for 22) and daughter Evie-Mae who collected 2 for 34 as she became the Club's FIRST BOWLER TO TAKE 50 WICKETS this season. Congratulations Evie-Mae.

After tea, our optimism to chase down what we thought was an under-par Benfleet total soon waned as Elliott Hendry helped himself to 5 for 38.  And with only Michael Cansdale making a decent score (28) we were bowled out for a disappointing 103 to lose by 30 runs.  Well played Benfleet - and many congratulations Evie-Mae.
