ALFIE WARE CENTURY:
Upminster 5th XI 183-9 (Alfie Taplin 52)
Belhus 3rd XI 185-4 (Alfie Ware 107no):
This
was the twelfth HFEL League match of the season and Upminster batted
first. Alfie Taplin stroked a half-century but his side could only
rack up an under-par total of 183-9 from their 40 overs. Coming on
sixth change, Afra Rose Mohamed was our star bowler collecting 3-28 from her 8
overs.
In the Belhus run-chase, Afra Rose continued to enjoy her day
by opening the innings and scoring 26, but it was co-opener Alfie Ware who stole the show by striking a
crushing 107 not out (his second century and career-best) from just 68 deliveries to ensure a comfortable victory by 6 wickets in only 24.2 overs.
And our 3rd
XI are now perched in second place in their Division, just 13 points
behind the leaders Westcliff-on-Sea, with six matches remaining.
