MAIDEN CENTURIES FOR BEN GLADMAN AND ALFIE WARE:
Belhus Under 16s 295-3 (Ben Gladman 122* Alfie Ware 104)
Wickford Under 16s 144 all out (Billy Corps 60).
At North Stifford on 14th July, Belhus Under 16s won their third successive match in the ECCB Trevor Bailey
Shield with a resounding 151-runs victory over Wickford.
Batting
first, openers Ben Gladman (122*) and Alfie Ware (104) were in absolutely superb form as they both struck their maiden centuries to enable us to rack up a
match-winning total of 295 for 3 after the allotted 40 overs.
In
chasing the formidable Belhus total, the Wickford opener Billy Corps led
the way with a fine half-century (60), but unfortunately the rest of his
team couldn't quite help to reach the required target as they were
bowled out for 144. James Webb continued his fine season with the ball, capturing 4 for 41 to lift his tally to 32 wickets.
Well played Belhus - and congratulations to Ben and Alfie.
