1ST XI HOLD 10 CATCHES.
In the 1st XI's Essex League match against Fives and Heronians on 29th July, all 10 of the Fives wickets taken fell to catches held by our alert fielders (including 3 by 'keeper Lewis Blake).
This was only the 4th occasion in the Club's history where such a feat has been achieved (1st XI v Chadwell Heath 1976, 1st XI v Downshall 1983 and 2nd XI v Buckhurst Hill 2019). It is said that catches win matches and this certainly proved to be the case as we won comfortably by 104 runs.
Interestingly, and unusually, not one of the 20 wickets to fall in the match was clean-bowled.
