On a very (very) warm Saturday afternoon, Belhus lost the toss and were sent out to field in the beautiful surroundings of Burnham-on-Crouch.

SW&B came out firing, scoring 78 for no loss from the first 10 overs. After tough spells for both our opening bowlers, a change brought a change in play with M Krishnasamy taking a wicket with his first ball. From the other end, Freddie Martin bowled superbly, stemming the runs and taking wickets. The second change had an even bigger effect with the fantastic bowling of Raghavan Muthukumar (2-10 on debut) and Khuzaima Afridi (2-6) restricting our opponents to barely 20 from 10 overs. Harvey Sharpe got his reward for perseverance with a wicket before Freddie took the final 2 to end with figures of 4 for 18.

Our run-chase was then made to look simpler than it was, with Ryan Pendergast (40 not out) being as dependable as ever and carrying his bat and, together with Brian Edwards, seeing us home to a well-deserved victory thanks to the efforts of our very young bowling attack.
