Belhus CC 3rd XI produced an excellent all-round performance to defeat Hornchurch Athletic CC 3rd XI by 119 runs.

After losing the toss and being asked to bat first on a bowler-friendly surface, Belhus faced a challenging start to the afternoon. In hindsight, it may have been a good toss to lose as the side adapted well to the conditions and posted a highly competitive 218-9 from their 40 overs.

The innings was built around a superb 98 from Alfie Ware, who was unfortunate to fall just short of a deserved century. He was well supported by Mohammad Sadman, whose excellent 52 helped establish a match-winning platform.

In reply, Hornchurch made a steady start before Belhus seized control through a disciplined bowling display. Imran Mohammed (4-15) and Alfie Ware (3-31) joined forces to trigger a dramatic middle-order collapse, reducing the hosts from 40-2 to 52-8 and effectively putting the result beyond doubt. The remainder of the bowling attack maintained the pressure as Hornchurch were eventually dismissed for 99 in 28.4 overs.

A dominant team performance, with Alfie Ware starring once again with both bat and ball, secured another valuable league victory for Belhus.
