Unsurprisingly, Stanford-le-Hope elected to bat first after winning the toss and thanks to David White's half century (75) were able to post 228 for 9 from the allotted 50 overs a little under par it was thought. The opening bowlers Tyler Robertson and James Maynard were the Belhus mainstays with 4 and 3 wickets respectively.

In the run-chase, openers Aftab Mohamed and Greg Mendham quickly showed the Belhus intent by putting on 77 for the first wicket, leaving Aftab to take control of the match and carry his bat to the required target with a commanding 130 and steer the 2nd XI home to a convincing 6-wicket win in 40 overs.

Being the Club's highest individual score of the season it was a career-best for Aftab.
